This is how research can help in deciding your new four-legged friend:

• Knowing the right size dog. Dogs come in varying sizes, always depending on the breed or the breeds they are mixed with. It is important to know what size dog will fit best in your home and lifestyle.


• Knowing the best breed for you. As we discussed on the adoption and shopping information page, shelters can often give you a description of the dogs' breeds or mixes—and breeders can 100% do the same. Research allows you to find the right breed with yout lifestyle, activity level, and more.


• Knowing how much grooming will be required. Grooming requirements depend on the breed of dog. Some dogs need frequent trips to the groomer's while others have very minimal grooming needed.
